Functional Medicine Provider

Beth Galan, NP

Beth Galan, NP

Beth’s journey began when she was just 13. Along with many other symptoms, she came home from school every day and immediately fell asleep until the next day! Fortunately Beth’s father, a General Practitioner, was able to look beyond his colleagues depression diagnosis. From the entire experience, 2 Functional Practitioners were born! Beths father then went on to be the first physician in the state of New York to Chelate and treat Candida.

Beth has worked in the Holistic medical field since she was 18. She learned and grew as the field grew and changed.  Ever since, she’s loved helping people get their health and vitality back! She finds that every person is unique and it forces her to consider all options. And this field changes all the time, giving us all new ways to address problems.

“I am thrilled to be at 5 Journeys since their approach is so Holistic and encompassing!”

Commonly Asked Questions

Commonly Asked Questions

If you don’t have insurance or it is one we do not accept, then you may pay cash for a visit. If you have an insurance plan that we accept, then we are required to bill your insurance for visits.

Yes! We accept many insurance plans. However, we do not accept coverage for the following insurance providers:

  • Many Connector products
  • Medicaid/Mass Health
  • Medicare Advantage plans
  • Network Health
  • Tufts Carelink

Please contact your insurance for confirmation prior to your first appointment.  Please note; it is your responsibility to confirm with your insurance that we are in-network.  If your insurer’s information is incorrect, you will be responsible for any charges incurred.

Membership is required for everyone who wishes to receive medical care at Five journeys.   This includes consultation, primary care, gynecology services and IVs.  Membership is not required to see only the nutritionist.

Each plan is different; some allow this as an expense and others do not. Please check with your plan administrator to see if this is an approved expense.

We use a secure system through a payment collection service that bills you monthly.

Membership varies in cost depending on the family member. For the first year, the investment for the first member is $99/month. To support you in the transition of your care we have created a promotional offer for anyone who enrolls in the practice until August 31, 2022 at a rate of $69/ month for the first family members.

We’re giving all self-pay members a discounted rate at 30% off for $259/month.

The  membership fee allows the providers to take the functional medicine approach and work outside the constraints of insurance a bit.

  • Stress free environment with unrushed, on-time appointments
  • Early detection and prevention methods using advanced diagnostic tools
  • An expanded annual exam with ample time to explore your health concerns
  • Careful follow up and appointment coordination with specialists
  • An individualized plan to help you reach your personal health goals

We know that disease doesn’t happen overnight, and neither will healing. That is why we ask our members to commit to a one year  program with us. However, we understand that life happens and ask our members, should they need to cancel to provide us with a 30 day notice to cancel at any time.

We utilize standard labs like Quest and Labcorp for much of our blood work. That is often covered by insurance, depending on your plan requirements. We also utilize specialty testing for stool, urine and other evaluations. We strive to use insurance-based services whenever possible; however, some labs are not covered, and our team will communicate those costs to you when they’re recommended.

We have been open for 7 years and are continuing to grow. We have a big mission on our plate and don’t intend to go anywhere anytime soon.
