Meet The Team
Lauren Camelio, RN
Lauren has been a Registered Nurse for 6 years, and has spent the last 5 years in a hospital setting, caring for transplant patients. She’s always felt that health care has become too focused on treating symptoms than getting to the root cause of the problem. This has lead her toward the functional medicine path and encouraged her to make changes in her own life to improve her overall health. She loves meeting all of her patients and hearing their stories about their health journeys. We feel happy and privileged to have Lauren on our functional medicine team.

I distinctly remember being in nursing school clinicals at some of the best hospitals in the country, wondering to myself, “there has to be a better way to help people.” I was surrounded by unhealthy food, long medication lists, and no root-cause approach. Once I learned about functional medicine, I knew that’s what I wanted to base my career in. I have been an RN at Five Journeys since March 2021, and continue to be amazed with functional medicine and all of the ways we are able to help people. I was also someone who used to be terrified of needles – and now I can’t wait to get IVs!
