You may be trying to optimize your health with all the right supplements, therapies, and habits, but what if the real problem is something much more basic? Before you add more to your routine, you need to get rid of what is holding your body back.
In this episode, Kyle Hulbert, CEO of the Longevity Center and co-host of the Longevity Unlocked podcast, shares how many people mistakenly focus on the newest longevity tools before dealing with the toxic burden underneath. He explains how toxins can interfere with your body’s natural balance, why testing matters, and what it looks like to build a more personalized approach to detoxification.
Listen to this episode and take the first step toward a better longevity protocol!
Kyle has helped thousands of people begin with the basics, not the biohacks, and his approach is centered on one idea: you have to remove interference before the body can function at its best. He talks about why toxic load can keep people stuck, how testing shapes the right next steps, and why many popular detox trends miss the mark.
Many people chase advanced longevity tools before clearing out the toxins that may be disrupting their system. Heavy metals, mold, Lyme, Epstein-Barr, and other stressors can keep the body below even a basic operating level. But once those interferences are reduced, your body is better positioned to respond to other health interventions.
One of Kyle’s biggest messages is that detox should never be guesswork. He emphasizes that different people carry different burdens, so the right plan should be guided by labs, symptoms, and a thoughtful assessment of the individual. That is why his clinic uses a step-by-step approach instead of overwhelming patients with every test at once.
Kyle breaks down some of the biggest misconceptions around detoxification, including the idea that juice cleanses can remove heavy metals or that any product labeled “detox” is automatically useful. He notes that a cleanse is not the same as a real detox, and that supporting general detox pathways is not the same as targeting the actual source of the burden.
Detoxing isn’t always a comfortable process. However, EBOO, infrared sauna, glutathione support, and other tools may help open pathways and reduce reactions during treatment. Different patients have different experiences, so support needs to be adjusted based on your symptoms and tolerance.
If you have already worked on gut health, hormones, adrenals, nutrition, and sleep but still don’t feel well, Kyle suggests looking deeper. That may mean searching for hidden toxic exposures, investigating less obvious sources, or identifying environmental factors that are still active. The goal is not just to manage your symptoms, but to find what is still driving them.
