Is IV therapy safe?

Yes, IV therapy is safe for you!

IV therapy simply involves administering essential nutrients that your body requires but is unable to generate through your vein. In general, most vitamins and minerals are naturally occurring in the body or get absorbed in your body from the food you consume. However, the increasing amounts of processed food that we consume nowadays leaves the body deficient, leading to easily avoidable health challenges. This is where IV therapy steps in to compensate for the lack of important fluids and nutrients in the body while allowing it to quickly absorb the required nutrition. Hence, you have nothing to worry about!

How long does an IV therapy session take?

An Iv therapy session can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes depending on the treatment selected by you or your physician. You can contact the physicians’ office for more details before your scheduled session.

Is it going to hurt?

We understand that some people get nervous around needles, but most report feeling nothing more than a pinch and notice only a minor bruise at the insertion site afterwards. Moreover, our registered nurses are experienced and make the IV insertion as quick and painless as possible. Our staff will be available to address any concerns you may have in this regard.

Are there any side effects to IV therapy? Can I have an allergic reaction?

Bruising, swelling, or pain at the site of insertion may be observed, but our nurses will provide you with proper post-care instructions to minimize these effects. Other complications such as damage to anatomical structures or vein inflammation at the site of insertion and blood clots are extremely rare. Allergic reactions to IV therapy are rare. However, they might be observed in patients who have previously unknown allergies to the nutrients being administered to them, which is also unlikely as most vitamins are naturally occurring in the body. Either way, our staff will ask you to provide allergy information before administering the treatments. You can also request for nutrient information for your treatment beforehand.

How frequently do I need to take IV therapy?

You can opt for IV therapy anywhere from 2-3 times a week to simply once a month depending on your health goals and how quickly you experience the results.

Are there any situations under which I must not take IV therapy?

While IV therapy is generally safe and effective, you must avoid it if you have a medical condition that restricts intake of fluids or sodium, such as kidney disease or congestive heart failure.

Is IV therapy covered by my insurance?

Unfortunately, IV treatments are not covered by insurance.

How soon will I feel the effects of an IV therapy session?

While some people experience the effects of an IV treatment right away, it might take a day or two for others. Sometimes, you might need to take a series of IV treatments to begin feelings its effects.

What is the difference between an IV drip, an IV push, and a booster shot?

An intravenous (IV) drip involves administering fluids and vitamins by inserting a small plastic tube (catheter) into a vein using a needle, which is removed as soon as the tube is in the vein. IV drips are the fastest way to deliver fluids throughout the body with 100% absorption in the bloodstream. An IV push involves a rapid, one-time injection of medication that is infused directly into the bloodstream via a plastic catheter that is inserted into the vein. This method also leads to 100% absorption of the medication in the bloodstream. A booster shot is a quick 10-second injection that delivers vitamins intramuscularly and thus does not require IV access. This method allows a smaller volume of vitamins to be injected as the booster goes into a muscle.

What is your cancellation policy?

Starting February 15th, 2021, there will be a charge of $150 for IV appointment cancellations and $25 for vitamin injection appointments that are made in less than 24 hours before the start of your appointment. To avoid a cancellation fee, please notify us of your cancellation at least 24 hours in advance. If you cancel your appointment greater than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment, a new appointment will be scheduled for you subject to availability. No cancellation fee will apply.
