This blend of vitamin C (as sodium ascorbate) with R-lipoic acid (as sodium R-lipoate) is designed to support the body’s antioxidant status while supporting the production of glutathione. As an antioxidant, vitamin C neutralizes free radicals and supports levels of vitamin E and glutathione. Beyond its role as an antioxidant, vitamin C supports normal immune function, general metabolism, and the growth and repair of collagen. Lipoic acid has been shown to extend the biological activity of vitamins C and E, and also supports ubiquinol (CoQ10) levels and the production of glutathione. Lipoic acid is able to cross the blood-brain barrier and has been shown to have neuroprotective effects.
