Dive into an eye-opening conversation about mTOR with an expert who has reversed chronic disease and dedicated his life to helping others do the same. This signaling molecule could be the game-changer you’ve been looking for regarding healthy aging and longevity.
In this episode, Dr. Robert Lufkin, a physician and medical school professor at UCLA and USC, dives deep into the role of mTOR in aging, chronic diseases, and longevity. Dr. Lufkin’s emphasis on lifestyle choices and interventions like rapamycin brings a holistic approach to promoting overall well-being. With an engaging exploration of mTOR’s role in health and aging, this episode sets the stage for a deeper understanding of how mTOR influences our health and why it’s crucial for individuals interested in healthy aging and longevity.
mTOR is a metabolic switch crucial for cell growth and repair. Its activation can lead to aging phenotypes and chronic diseases. This nutrient-sensing molecule has a major impact on longevity, chronic diseases, and overall health.
Rapamycin, a drug that targets mTOR, has proved useful for improving skin aging, delaying menopause, and preventing chronic diseases. It can modulate mTOR to enhance the health span and address aging-related conditions. As an FDA-approved drug, it is being studied for both cancer treatment and longevity.
A metabolically-healthy lifestyle influences menopause, fertility, and overall health. Certain lifestyle modifications can also affect mTOR and its impact on longevity quality and delaying chronic diseases.
